In-Church Serving

God’s plan for this world requires active churches, and FUMC Aubrey is a very active church. With thriving Children’s and Students ministries, alongside Praise and Worship team, greeters, and ushers, there is a place for you to serve and still worship with your friends and family. In fact, we believe that it is by serving that you get the most out of being a part of FUMC Aubrey. Don’t miss out! Get involved.

Greeters
This is your sub-headline

Ushers

Ushers provide hospitality to everyone coming to worship. Volunteers should come with a positive attitude, providing a smile and warm welcome to all. Ushers should arrive at least 20 minutes before the worship service and typically stay until about 10 minutes after worship begins to greet latecomers, distribute bulletins, and assist them with finding seats if needed. Ushers will work as a team to pass the offering, as well as dismiss by rows on Communion days. We encourage children/students to volunteer with an adult as an usher.

CREATIVE/MEDIA

Individuals will help in a variety of tasks ranging from bulletin preparation, media production, photography, copywriting, design/art, or assisting the tech team.

SEASONAL DECORATING | FLOWER MAINTENANCE

Volunteers are needed seasonally to decorate the church for Advent/Lent/Memorial Day, and to water/maintain poinsettias during Advent/Christmas and Lilies during Lent/Easter.

ACOLYTES

Children serve as acolytes in our Sunday morning service on a rotation basis. Training is provided for children and their parent(s). Beth Peters

Membership

If you are interested in learning more about FUMC Aubrey our ministries, and membership, speaking with the pastor is the first step. God made us to be in community with one another. Church membership is a commitment in which the church promises to support you in your Christian walk as you dedicate yourself to a faithful Christian life. Whether you are joining a church for the first time or transferring your membership from another United Methodist church or a church of another denomination, we would love to welcome you into our church family.

After meeting with the FUMC Aubrey pastor and getting to know other members. You will have the opportunity to take the vows of membership by accepting your belief in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and committing to serving this church through worship, connection, serving, and giving.

Baptism

Baptism is an important part of church membership. If you have not been baptized, we can arrange this with you personally prior to joining. For more information on Baptism,

Baptisms are a celebration of God’s grace which is available to us from the moment of our birth. It is a witness both to God’s desire to have an ever closer relationship with us, and God’s grace which provides us the space and opportunity to know God more. Because we believe baptism is a gift of God’s grace, embodied through the Church, we celebrate baptisms for people of every age. Covenantal Relationship Baptism is also a covenantal relationship between the person being baptized, the Church, and God in which an individual (as an adult) or parents of infants and children share in vows with FUMC- Aubrey to help the person being baptized grow in their knowledge of God’s love and participate in a community which brings that love to life for them. For this reason, adults being baptized become members of the Church through baptism and are expected to participate in our New Member Orientation Program, while one or more parents/caregivers of children and infants being baptized must be members of FUMC Aubrey.

Welcome to First United Methodist Church Aubrey!
